Art Vandal
==========

A first-person torch-lit maze, written in Rill with no C written anywhere.

To play: double-click `artvandal`.

macOS on Apple Silicon, 11 or later. Nothing to install — the three libraries
it needs (GLFW, OpenAL, mpg123) are in this folder beside it. Keep the folder
together: the program looks for `assets.rpak` next to itself, so the two travel
as a pair.

It is not signed by a developer Apple knows about, so the first launch is
refused. Right-click it and choose Open, and say Open again.

W A S D walks. The mouse or the arrow keys look around. The left button swings
the axe, space jumps, f fills the screen, escape opens the menu. The window's
close button, or QUIT in the menu, ends it.

There are twenty paintings on the walls and the game is to take them all. Your
torch burns out in forty seconds and the fires on the walls are what light it
again — you have to stand at one, and standing still is the only thing that
makes no noise. Something else in here is listening. Ten blows of the axe will
put it down, and it stays down.

The air is fog on the floor and smoke under the boards, both of them lit by
whichever fire the light actually passes through.
